Ten People Shot And Killed In Colorado

(Worthy News) – As many as 10 people were shot and killed at a Colorado supermarket in what was the second major shooting incident in the U.S. within a week.
Among those killed in the Colorado city of Boulder was police officer Eric Talley, 51, who had been with Boulder police since 2010, officials confirmed.
The suspect was in custody and treated for his injuries, said Boulder police Commander Kerry Yamaguchi
Officers escorted a shirtless man with blood running down his leg out of the store in handcuffs, but authorities would not say if that were the suspect.
Police said there was no known motive for the violence, which unfolded at about 3 p.m. local time at a King Soopers grocery store in Boulder’s Table Mesa area, about 28 miles (45 kilometers) northwest of Denver.
“This is a tragedy and a nightmare for Boulder County,” said the Boulder County district attorney, Michael Dougherty. Police organized a procession involving a long line of police cars to remember their killed colleague.
Monday’s tragedy came less than a week after police said a Georgia man shot and killed eight people at three Atlanta-area spas. Most of the victims were of Asian descent. Law enforcement authorities said 21-year-old Robert Aaron Long was charged with eight counts of murder after the shootings last Tuesday.
Back in Colorado on Monday, police chief, Yamaguchi said officers arrived “within minutes of the initial 911 calls and entered the building very quickly.” “Without that quick response,” he said, “we don’t know if there would have been more loss of life.”
