(Worthy News) – A Christian advocacy group has said one of President Joe Biden’s first executive orders is an “assault on biological reality” that negatively targets people of faith and faith-based organizations that provide social services, Christian Today reports. The Family Research Council (FRC) said the president’s Executive Order on Preventing and Combating Discrimination on the Basis of Gender Identity or Sexual Orientation may result in Christians having to violate their consciences and even lose government contracts for failure to comply.

Issued on President Biden’s first day in office, the executive order controversially aims to protect citizens not only against discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation but also on the basis of “gender identity” – a concept that is by definition highly fluid, subjective, and not confined to the reality of a person’s biological make-up.

This order has caused deep concern not only among faith groups but also among women’s groups: there are fears that male sex offenders will have access to shelters for vulnerable women, for instance. Moreover, the order apparently allows for biological schoolboys to compete in girls’ sports and use girls’ intimate spaces.

“Adults should be able to earn a living and pursue a vocation knowing that they will not be fired, demoted, or mistreated because of whom they go home to or because how they dress does not conform to sex-based stereotype,” the order reads. Additionally, the order also states: “Children should be able to learn without worrying about whether they will be denied access to the restroom, the locker room, or school sports.”

In a statement, FRC President Tony Perkins said: “Now, those who hold to biological reality and the doctrines of the world’s major religions will be forced to violate their consciences, or even lose a government contract. Ultimately, if this executive order is able to be fully carried out, it will affect everyday Americans who hold biblical and conservative values.”
