Israel expects Iranian attacks may come through Iraq and Yemen

According to an Israeli military spokesman, Israel anticipates that an Iranian attack may come from Iraq and Yemen – two countries that are considered Iran’s proxies in its conflict with the Jewish State, the Jerusalem Post reports.
Speaking to the Saudi news website Elaph in an interview published Friday, Israel Defense Forces (IDF) spokesman Brig.-Gen. Hidai Zilberman said Iraq and Yemen now constitute a second circle of Iranian proxies, following Lebanon and Syria that form Iran’s first circle of proxies.
According to Zilberman, Iran has developed a “great” ability to launch advanced drones and remotely controlled missiles from Iraq and Yemen – and Israel is therefore closely monitoring the two countries.
Although Iran was repeatedly attacked this year, including through explosions at its nuclear facilities and the assassination of top Iranian nuclear scientist Mohsen Fakhrizadeh, Zilberman said the international community should consider Iran to be a major threat: it is a “powder keg liable to explode,” he said. “We are hearing more and more threats against Israel coming from Iran,” he added.
Israel is ready to deal with the Iranian regime if it attacks: “If Iran and its partners… attack the State of Israel, they will [pay] a heavy price… I am simplifying things and describing the situation to our enemies as it is,” Zilberman said. “Our retaliation plans are prepared, and they have been practiced.”
