Christians prayed for believers from Muslim-backgrounds on special day of prayer

(Worthy News) – This week saw a special International Day of Prayer held for Muslim- background believers (MBBs), Christians who leave Islam to follow Jesus, CBN News reports. Highlighting the particular needs of those leaving Islam for Christ, MBB Global launched November 18 as a day of prayer, encouraging believers all over the world to seek God for their MBB brothers and sisters.
Among the fastest-growing Christian communities in the world, MBBs also face intense persecution for leaving Islam. Moreover, living in Muslim countries can limit fellowship with other believers – leading to loneliness.
Speaking to CBN News about the day of prayer, Harun Ibrahim of Al-Hayat Ministries explained why MBBs are in need of particular ministry: “Islam is a religion that does not allow people to change it, and if you reject Islam you will be punished. You will be given three days as a chance to get back. If not then you can be persecuted,” he said.
“In many of the countries they don’t kill them, but in some of the countries, they do. Many people would lose their jobs, their families, their children, their wives; and then their families, unfortunately, we can say that in some cases they lose their lives,” Ibrahim added.
Wednesday’s day of prayer was also intended to give MBBs the message: “You are not alone,” CBN News reported.
