(Worthy News) – Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden’s path to election victory suffered a setback as the crucial state of Arizona was turning towards U.S. Presidential Donald J. Trump.
Shock waves went through the leftist MSNBC television newsroom as a new bucket of votes showed Trump in a narrow lead over his Democratic rival in Arizona with its 11 electoral votes.
President Trump had already expressed confidence he would win Arizona.
If confirmed, Trump would need another victory in Georgia, Pennsylvania, and North Carolina, to seal another four years in the White House.
A Worthy News analysis shows all three remaining states are traditional Republican red Trump-territory, and there was a chance he would also carry Nevada.
Biden was earlier in striking distance to become the next president of the United States, after victories in Michigan and Wisconsin.
The conservative-leaning Wall Street Journal newspaper said Biden had four ways to receive the six electoral votes needed to have the 270 needed to claim the presidency.
President Donald J. Trump needed to win 56 electoral votes necessary for reelection.
However, Trump’s team announced several legal challenges citing reports of possible voting fraud in crucial battleground states.
Worthy News learned that Democrats in Georgia prepared to ”cure” ballots with training sessions offered for Biden supporters.
It wasn’t clear what curing ballots meant, but Trump campaigners expressed concerns about the reported massive printing of ballot papers and stuffing of ballot boxes.
Separately, investigators of Judicial Watch, a conservative “non-partisan foundation” promoting transparency, found that Clark County, Nevada, had “a 102.7 percent voter registration rate”.
It meant that “more voters were registered there than eligible to vote.”
Despite Biden’s expressed optimism about his path to victory, the first results showed the 77-year-old failed to inspire the blue Democratic wave that opinion polls had predicted.
Instead, Republicans were in a strong position to keep control of the Senate, potentially undermining Biden’s policy agenda, which could include expanding the Supreme Court with leftist judges.
A Republican-run Senate would also make it difficult to enable massive spending on Biden’s planned Green New Deal that he says is necessary to tackle climate change and ”phase out” the oil and gas industry.
The size of the Democrats’ expected majority in the House was uncertain.
Amid the election turmoil, stocks closed sharply higher. ”Investors appeared to coalesce around the idea of a divided U.S. government, ” The Wall Street Journal noted.
