(Worthy News) – Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden and the Democratic National Committee (DNC) together raised a record-breaking $383 million for their election campaign fund in September, AP News reports. This amount brings Biden’s total campaign funds to $432 million in the final leg of the presidential race. President Trump’s campaign has not yet released its fundraising total for September.
AP News notes that Biden’s current healthy bank balance is starkly different from that which he had during the Democratic primary. “[Biden] was almost broke by the time he won the South Carolina primary, which catapulted him to a commanding Super Tuesday performance,” AP News reported.
September’s total exceeded a previous record amount raised in August when Biden and the DNC received $364 million in campaign funds. President Trump’s campaign raised $210 million in August.
The Washington Times reports that in a call with a supporter, Biden said about September’s intake: “That’s more than I’ve ever raised my whole life.” Biden added 1.1 million new donors in September, bringing the number of his donors to 5.5 million, the Washington Times said.
