US Secretary of State talks to Saudi Arabia Foreign Minister about Israeli peace agreements with Arab states

(Worthy News) – US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo spoke on the phone with Saudi Foreign Minister Faisalbin Farhan Sunday, discussing the Abraham peace accords between Israel and the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain, Israel National News reports. Following the signing of the Abraham Accords on September 15, President Donald Trump said he expected Saudi Arabia to also normalize ties with Israel “when the time comes.”
In a tweet confirming a discussion on Israel’s new peace agreements with Arab states, Pompeo added that he had also thanked Farhan for “Saudi Arabia’s work to advance peace in the south of Yemen”
Moreover, Pompeo said he is “Looking forward to a productive Strategic Dialogue [with Saudi Arabia] in October,” INA reports.
In a statement about the conversation, the US State Department said: “Secretary of State Michael R. Pompeo spoke yesterday with Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud.”
“The Secretary and the Foreign Minister discussed important work to advance humanitarian assistance and peace in Yemen, the need to overcome divisions between Gulf countries, and the historic Abraham Accords signing. They also discussed expectations for a productive U.S.-Saudi Strategic Dialogue in October,” the State Department said.
