(Worthy News) – The conservative Faith and Freedom Coalition (FFC) has mobilized hundreds of Conservative Evangelical and Catholic volunteers to knock on nearly 1 million doors in their efforts to get President Donald Trump re-elected in November, the Christian Post reports. Founded in 2009 by prominent Evangelical Ralph Reed, the FFC expects to spend over $40 million on its grassroots campaign to return Trump to the Whitehouse.

With chapters in 21 states, the FFC is especially focused on swing states Florida, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Michigan, Wisconsin, Nevada, and Arizona.
In regard to door-step canvassing, FFC Executive Director Tim Head told The Christian Post that volunteers knocked on 1.2 million doors in the weeks leading up to the 2016 election, and it is hoped they will knock on up to 5 million this time. “Normally, we start in September. But we backed it up a little bit this year just because the gravity of the election cycle merited an extra month of engagement,” Head said.

Discussing the funds required for the campaign, Head said: “It’s probably a 15% increase [in spending] from 2016 and comparable to 2018. That will include a pretty elaborate mail component and a pretty elaborate phone component in the closing weeks and days.”

Other organizations, including My Faith Votes and advocacy group Family Research Council, are also campaigning to encourage Evangelicals to go out and vote Trump in 2020.
