Rabbi: Supermoon presages messianic “night of miracles” over Passover

(Worthy News) – Rabbis in Israel are pointing to a portentous sign occurring on three major Jewish holidays this year as an indication that redemption and the construction of a third temple are imminent.
Breaking Israel News reports that the largest supermoon of the year will occur during the Passover seder on Wednesday, preceded by a supermoon during the holiday of Purim last month and followed by a third supermoon at the beginning of Rosh Hashanna in September.
“The supermoon on Passover is not happenstance,” Rabbi Berger, the religious leader who presides over King David’s tomb on Mount Zion, told BIN. “God brought the Children of Israel out of Egypt on a specific day, a day that from the beginning of creation was imbued with special powers of redemption. The Midrash (homiletic teachings) say that the first redemption of Israel took place on this night and the final redemption will as well.”
Berger was not remiss in pointing out the significance of a supermoon on Purim last month, which commemorates the deliverance of the Jews in the time of Esther, suggesting that the Davidic Dynasty was about to return.
He added this month that “just as we long for the Third Temple, God longs for a house to dwell among us,” applying Haggai 1:2-4 to the current temple mount situation that awaits construction of a new place for Jews to sacrifice.
Rabbinical interpretations of current events have been rife with expectations over the last few months that a divine savior figure will arrive shortly to allow for the construction of a third temple, heal disease, and bring in the ‘geula’ or redemption that Jews have been waiting for.
Biblical scholars point to Jesus’ warnings of “signs in the sun, moon, and stars” (Luke 21:25) that would be concurrent not with the second coming only but also with “false Messiahs and false prophets” capable of performing “great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect (Matthew 24:24).
Christian theologians also understand the warning the Apostle Paul gave in 2 Thessalonians 2 as referring to a rebuilt third temple in Jerusalem. In connection to the rebuilding of a third temple, scholars warn of a “strong delusion” that would overtake society. (2 Thessalonians 2:11)
