(Worthy News) – Brazil has pledged multiple political and economic commitments to Israel in recent days, with leaders promising the country will move its embassy to Jerusalem, designate Hezbollah a terrorist organization, and work with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to launch direct flights between the two nations.

The US and Guatemala are so far the only nations to have made the historic political gesture of moving their embassies to Jerusalem in recognition of the holy city’s status as Israel’s capital, but Brazil said a large Christian population had motivated its leaders to follow suit.

“We want to do a movement to Jerusalem, not only for Brazil, but to be an example to the rest of Latin America,” said Eduardo Bolsonaro, son of Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro and chair of Brazil’s International Affairs and National Defense Committee.

Following the German parliament’s decision in recent weeks, Bolsonaro also said his country would be designating Lebanese Iran proxy Hezbollah a terror group “sooner or later,” echoing a promise by Guatemalan President-Elect Alejandro Giammattei only a few days ago.
