Trust in media plummets to new lows and Americans expect it to get worse with 2020 election coverage, polls find

(Worthy News) – Trust in the media has sunk to an all-time low among all voter bases in America, according to recent polls.
Boutique PR agency Bospar reports that out of 1,010 Americans they polled, 95% said they were “troubled” by the state of the media, while 67% believe the problem will only worsen as the 2020 election gets underway.
Those figures hew closely to an Axios poll from June of last year that found seventy-two percent of 4,000 politically diverse Americans believed “traditional major news sources report news they know to be fake, false, or purposely misleading.”
A majority of Democrats, Republicans, and Independents concurred that two-thirds of fake news stories were promulgated for the sake of an overarching narrative or agenda.
Gallup reports that trust in the media was once as high as 74% in 1976, even after the Watergate scandal, but had sunk as low as 32% in 2016, the last time it asked the question in a poll.
