New Website Gives Online Home to Teens and a Portal to God

NEW FAIRFIELD, Conn.– Teens now have an online community they can call their own, allowing them to share their faith, make friends, find a youth group and express themselves with creative writing.

Launched by Youth4Him Ministries, the new non-denominational website www.Youth4Him.com also offers Christian music reviews, chat rooms, message boards, devotionals, daily scriptures, pastoral counseling and free e-mail with other features to come.

“Teenagers are one of the fastest growing groups of users on the internet. This is a place for them to meet, lift each other up and encounter Jesus Christ,” says Youth4Him webmaster Kevin Davis. “There’s a lot of questionable content out there and not many places the kids can go to connect, share their Christian faith and meet other kids.”

We believe that many will make this their home page, Davis adds, “and invite their friends to join them on this site.”

Joe Giacometti, youth pastor at the United Methodist Church in New Fairfield, Conn. serves as the site’s “pastor”, offering online spiritual help as well as weekly messages. “”This is a site that will grab the kids. It will be their ‘home’ on the net; a place where they can be themselves, kick back, talk to each other and generally hang out.” He promises the site will deal with the daily life struggles of teens, offering a Christian perspective on dealing with issues from tattoos and body piercing to substance abuse and teen sexuality.

Davis urged Christians to share the site with their churches and youth groups, noting that a big feature of the site is a database of youth groups around the country. Site visitors are invited to add their own group to the database.

Youth4Him is designed to be a web portal through which teens can accomplish all their Internet needs, Davis added. Search engines offer comprehensive web searches and the site also includes links to Christian music sites providing concert information and store information. “We measure success very simply,” Davis says. “Are we bringing Christian teens closer to God and helping the lost find Him. If so, we’ve done our job!”

Youth4Him Ministries LLC and Y4H Designs.com are based in New Fairfield, Connecticut.
