Jerusalem TV Station Shut Down For Relaying PA Broadcast
Israeli police arrested on Tuesday the manager and three employees of a broadcasting company in central Jerusalem on suspicion of operating an illegal television and radio station that was re-transmiting Palestinian and Hizb’Allah television and radio broadcasts abroad.

Acting on information they received from the Bezek telephone company, police raided the Jerusalem offices of the Orbit company in the capital and confiscated antennas and transmitters that were on the roof of the Jaffa Street building, as well as various documents they found in the office. During their interrogation, it became clear that the company’s antennas and transmitters were directed towards radio and television stations run by the Palestinian Authority and Hamas in the territories. The company would then transmit the broadcasts abroad for tens of thousand of shekels per broadcast.

The antennas were also able to pick up Hizb’Allah broadcasts that were transmitted in the territories.

The company’s manager and its employees are suspected of operating an illegal TV and radio station which is liable to interfere with air traffic controllers, as well as using Bezek equipment without permission.

The four suspects were released after posting bail, according to THE JERUSALEM POST.
