Deal with Iran Done Despite Detained Americans

(Worthy News) – While the United States and other world leaders reached an agreement with Iran about its nuclear program, the fate of Pastor Saeed Abedini and three other Americans trapped inside the Islamic Republic were not even addressed, according to International Christian Concern.
However, Abedini as well as other Americans imprisoned by Iran were addressed by Senator Ted Cruz (TX-R).
Cruz said that President Obama had failed to mention Abedini, Amir Hekmati, and Jason Rezaian, who languish in Iranian prisons, or Robert Levinson, who remains unaccounted for.
“For them, today is no ‘opportunity to move in a new direction’ as the President claimed,” he said. “We owe it to our fellow Americans … to demand their swift and unconditional release by the implacably hostile regime that holds them.”
In Iran, there are more than 90 Christians currently imprisoned, or awaiting trial for charges related to their faith, according to the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom.
