Gold Hits Record High Amid Global Trade War; Biblical Experts Not Surprised (Worthy News Focus)

NEW YORK (Worthy News) – Gold, mentioned often in Biblical times, appeared a safe- haven for investors fleeing turbulent stock markets amid an unprecedented trade war between the world’s largest economies vying for global dominance.
It came as Beijing announced a 125 percent rise on imported goods from the United States after Washington made a similar move on Chinese goods.
Market watchers said gold continues to gain, on pace to establish a new all-time high as investors seek refuge from the market volatility in haven assets.
The price hit an all-time intraday high Friday above $3,248 a troy ounce. That level puts it on pace to settle at a new record for the second consecutive day, based on Dow Jones data from January 1975, reported the Wall Street Journal newspaper on its online news service.
“Investors often flock to gold because of its reputation for retaining its value during periods of economic and stock-market volatility. It’s also considered a hedge against inflation and a way to diversify holdings,” the paper commented.
Biblical experts aren’t surprised saying beyond material wealth, gold in the Bible “represents God’s glory, majesty, purity, perfection, value, wisdom, knowledge, unchanging nature, and sovereignty.”
In descriptions of heaven and the New Jerusalem, they say gold symbolizes otherworldly perfection, immense value, preciousness, permanence, and incorruptibility.
Gold was also used “extensively in the Tabernacle and Temple to create a sense of awe, symbolize divine attributes, set apart sacred spaces, and facilitate worship,” noted ChristianPure.com, providing “faith-based guidance” to “seekers and believers.”
The site added that gold “symbolizes divinity, kingship, power, authority, holiness, consecration, wisdom, enlightenment, tested faith, and God’s promises in the Bible.”
The “words of the Lord are flawless, . . . like gold refined seven times,” added another Christian site, gotquestions.org, referring to Biblical verse Psalm 12:6.
