(Worthy News) – Late Monday night, sirens were triggered across central Israel as air defenses intercepted a ballistic missile launched from Yemen. According to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), this was the seventh such nighttime attack in less than two weeks. The missile was successfully intercepted before it could reach Israeli territory.

The sirens, which sent millions into shelters, rang out just minutes after reports of a US-British attack on the Yemeni port city of Hodeidah. According to the Houthi-affiliated Al-Masirah channel, the international coalition carried out two strikes targeting a Houthi weapons depot in southern Hodeidah.

The missile was intercepted before entering Israeli airspace, the military reported, triggering sirens across central Israel shortly after 11:00 p.m. as a precaution against falling debris. While there was no major damage, a large fragment did crash in the Ramat Beit Shemesh Alef neighborhood near Beit Shemesh, close to Jerusalem.

The missile launch caused brief disruptions at Ben Gurion Airport, with arrivals and departures temporarily halted due to concerns over falling debris, according to Ynet news.

Last week, the Houthis launched five missiles from Yemen, triggering sirens in Jerusalem, the Judea region, the Dead Sea, and the northern Negev. The IDF reported that the missiles were intercepted outside of Israeli territory.

Despite the attacks on Yemen by Israel and coalition countries, the Houthis continue to threaten and vow to attack Israel repeatedly, claiming it is a sign of “support for the Palestinians,” until “the siege is lifted and the attacks against Gaza are stopped.”
