US Prison Ministry Baptizes Dozens of Incarcerated Women, “They Are Finding Freedom in Christ”

(Worthy News) – The US God Behind Bars (GBB) ministry has reported baptizing more than 140 incarcerated women across America in the last three months, CBN News reported on December 17.
Reaching out to inmates among America’s incarcerated population of 2.3 million people, GBB has worked since its founding in 2009 to help restore shattered lives by sharing the redemptive love and salvation of Jesus Christ through faith-building programs.
In one Instagram post highlighting prisoners’ response to the Gospel, GBB rejoiced that hundreds of female inmates gathered to hear about Jesus last month: “Three hundred incarcerated women came to hear about the love of Jesus inside of this prison! Over 70 women gave their lives to Jesus! Hundreds came up to get prayer and confess sin! Jesus is breaking the chains of the incarcerated and they are finding freedom in Christ.”
“We will stop at nothing to ensure every inmate in the US has direct and personal access to the Gospel,” GBB explains in a website statement. “We want to help them grow their faith, heal trauma and emotional wounds, break addictions and cycles, and allow every person behind bars to step into their calling as sons and daughters of the Most High.”
In a statement to CBN, God Behind Bars founder and CEO Jake Bodine added: “Jesus loves inmates. And I believe that there is a purpose. Their story is not their identity. It’s just a blip on a map of what God wants to do in and through them. That is the message that we carry.”
