Musk and Ramaswamy To Tackle Government Waste
by Emmitt Barry, Worthy News Correspondent
(Worthy News) – President-elect Donald Trump announced on Tuesday that Elon Musk and former Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy will head his proposed Department of Government Efficiency, tasked with streamlining the government, boosting efficiency, and restructuring and reducing the federal government’s bureaucracy.
“I am pleased to announce that the Great Elon Musk, working in conjunction with American Patriot Vivek Ramaswamy, will lead the Department of Government Efficiency (“DOGE”),” Trump announced.
“Together, these two wonderful Americans will pave the way for my Administration to dismantle Government Bureaucracy, slash excess regulations, cut wasteful expenditures, and restructure Federal Agencies – Essential to the ‘Save America’ Movement,” Trump explained.
Trump went on to describe DOGE as a potential “Manhattan Project” of the modern age.
Musk, who also owns X, announced on the social media platform Tuesday night that all actions taken by the department would be shared online to ensure “maximum transparency.”

Musk emphasized, “Either we get government efficient or America goes bankrupt. That’s what it comes down to. Wish I were wrong, but it’s true.”
Ramaswamy, who will lead DOGE, highlighted a significant inefficiency in government spending on his X platform. He explained that currently, over half a trillion dollars of taxpayer funds—more than $516 billion—are allocated each year to programs that Congress has allowed to expire. With over 1,200 programs continuing to receive appropriations despite lacking current authorization, Ramaswamy called this practice “totally nuts.” He emphasized the potential for saving hundreds of billions annually by defunding these outdated programs and vowed to challenge any politician who disagrees to justify their position.
