(Worthy News) – In response to escalating tensions along the northern border, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) have approved operational plans for an offensive in Lebanon. This move follows Hezbollah broadcasting footage purportedly taken by a surveillance drone over the northern Israeli port city of Haifa, in what appears to be a warning to Israel.

“The operational plans for an offensive in Lebanon were approved during our assessment today,” stated the IDF in an official statement. The military added that top commanders made decisions regarding “accelerating the readiness of the forces on the ground.”

“Israel cannot tolerate the ongoing provocations and attacks from Lebanon,” warned IDF officials, emphasizing the need for decisive action to protect Israeli territory.

“We are prepared to take military action if diplomatic efforts fail to address the threats posed by Hezbollah along our border,” added the IDF Spokesperson, underscoring the seriousness of the security situation.

The United States warned Israel against escalating the IDF-Hezbollah conflict, advocating for diplomatic solutions to the violence on Israel’s southern and northern borders.

“The message to Israel is, don’t do anything in the North,” stated US State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller.

This came as US President Joe Biden’s special envoy Amos Hochstein visited Israel this week.

“We don’t want to see escalation at all in the North. We’ve made that clear to the government of Israel directly,” Miller emphasized.

Earlier today, a nine-minute video captured by a drone was published by the Hezbollah-linked Al Mayadeen TV and Al Manar displayed several prime Israeli targets.

Al Mayadeen described the video as an “exceptional recording and precise survey” of Israeli targets, featuring maximum-security locations such as military bases, weapons depots, missiles, maritime ports, and airports in Haifa, which is nearly 17 miles (27 km) from the Lebanese border.

Hezbollah has yet to issue any official statements on the footage, but Al Manar described the locations as “a bank of targets in northern Israel.”
