US military chief lands in Israel for talks with top officials


(Worthy News) – Israeli Defense Minister Moshe Ya’alon met with US Joint Chiefs of Staff General Joseph Dunford on Thursday in Tel Aviv, discussing “strengthening defense and military ties” between the two allies and the situation in the Middle East, according to a Defense Ministry statement.

During the meeting, attended by IDF Chief of Staff Gadi Eizenkot and Phil Breedlove, Commander, US European Command, Ya’alon expressed his appreciation of army and intelligence cooperation between Israel and the US and said “we see the US as our strongest ally.”

“We look together at the Middle East, as we normally do, and see the chaotic situation and instability. There are a lot of challenges ahead of us, and together we must deal with them,” he added. [ Source ]
