(Worthy News) – Fulani Muslim cattle herders have been burning the fields of Christian farmers in the northern regions of the Central African Republic.
According to Barnabas Aid, many Christian homes have been set ablaze in the process.
Troubles between CAR’s Muslims and Christians were ignited after Islamic Seleka militias led an uprising in 2012; four months later, Muslims took control of the Christian-majority country. But after Seleka began a campaign of murder and rape against Christian civilians, militant anti-balaka (anti-AK 47) militias sprang up in reprisal. As a result, thousands were killed and nearly half a million CAR residents have fled their homes. But Barnabas Aid has been helping displaced Christians by providing food parcels to help meet their basic needs.
